Roland S. Hartley

April 14, 1934 -

January 22, 2019

On the 22nd of Jan., Rolly entered heaven after several years of battling Alzheimers.

Rolly worked and lived his life striving to help others. His vocation, working for Children's Services, focused on assisting children and their families, as did the private marital counseling practice he started. After his retirement, Rolly served as the Pastor of Caring Ministeries at the Salem Alliance church. He was highly respected and admired by those around him for his compassion, hard work, innovative ideas, and integrity.

His parents, George and Florence Hartley, and brother, Richard have preceded him in death.

Surviving Rolly, are his wife of 64 yrs, Joanne, brother, Wesley Hartley, children, Rick Hartley, Marcus Hartley, Laurie Shuholm, Judy Bryant, along with seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Rolly was a man of presence. He wanted to be at any activity in which his children or grandkids were involved- sports, music, graduations, etc., as well as functions at church. He added love, kindness, and humor to any family event.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Salem Alliance Church, Monday, February 18, at 1:00 in the afternoon.
