Kenneth Ehlers

02/07/1948 - 11/13/2018

Son, Husband, Father, Brother and a Beautiful Soul.

He was a stoic man. He was often very quiet but filled with wisdom, compassion, honesty and understanding. Being a man of few words and contemplative nature, he wanted us to keep this short and sweet. Ken was born to Irvin & Dorothy Ehlers on a dairy farm in Twin Falls Id. After graduating from Twin Falls high school he attended the College of Idaho, after graduation he joined the Air Force and then went on to Pacific University where he received his doctorate in Optometry. In 1983 he married the love of his life, Jill and unselfishly adopted her two children Cherie and Nicholas. He and his family moved to Ashland, Or in 1989 and he opened his own practice, Ashland's Optical Expressions. Ken served on and was President of the Board of Optometry. He was an active member of the Ashland Rotary Club for 28 years and truly enjoyed being cashier and a part of that special community. He closed his business Nov 1st, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Jill and their children Cherie (son in law Ash and granddaughter Bella of Redding Ca.) and Nicholas (daughter in law Libby, grandson Bechler and granddaughter to be of Missoula Mt.); his parents Irvin & Dorothy Ehlers of Twin Falls Id. and Sister Betty Prough (brother in law Russ of Louisville KY.); Several In-laws, nieces and nephews; and of course his sweet dogs Lacey and Rowdy. There will be no services at his request. We would like to thank Providence Hospice and Rogue Valley Cremation Services, and all of those who have helped through our go fund me account or helped behind the scenes. Thank you all for your continued love and support.
