Kaye Kroman

Kaye Bush Kroman was born to Maude Bush and Charles Kroman in Miles City, Montana on March 6, 1925 and passed away peacefully at her daughter and son-in-law's home in Ashland, Oregon on October 23, 2018.

Kaye attended Montana State University, Bozeman and worked in Seattle as a riveter on Boeing aircraft during WW II and served as a travel agent for Boeing and the new United Airlines. While in Seattle, Kaye met and married Thomas Ladd Goff in 1950; the couple had three daughters and the family moved to Chiloquin, OR for Tom's work but settled in Medford in 1957. Kaye earned a BS and MS in Education from Southern Oregon University and taught English for 20 years at Medford Mid-High and North Medford HS. In 1968, Kaye married her second husband Dr. James Robertson, relocating with the children to a home on Ashland's North Main Street. Kaye divorced once more in the mid 70s and her retirement gave her the freedom to travel many times solo or with friends to the British Isles, to India twice and to engage in study tours to Italy, China, USSR and various US destinations. Kaye held dear her connections to the Ashland community as an Elderhostel hostess for SOU programs, board member of The Hannon Library, as a volunteer at the OSF Welcome Center, the Schneider Museum, as a Pink Lady for Ashland Hospital and for progressive political organizations. Her passion for the SOU OLLI programs remained strong into her final years.

Kaye's love for family and friends (both old and new) as well as a joy in cooking, art, music, theatre, reading, sewing, outdoor adventures, former students and appreciating life in the most simple ways will be deeply missed. The earth has lost a bright spirit!

She leaves behind two daughters: Mary Goff of Coos Bay, OR and Joanna Goff (son-in-law Steve Sunde) of Ashland, OR; four grandchildren: Summer Foertsch of Albany, OR, Matthew Foertsch of Ashland, OR, Samuel Epstein and August Epstein of Portland, OR and extended family in Oregon, Washington, Maine and Arkansas. She was preceded in death by daughter Elizabeth Goff, son-in-law Rick Foertsch and by her sister Patricia Lovejoy.
