Phyllis Schroeder

On the evening of March 28th 2021, Phyllis passed away peacefully of natural causes, at the Oregon Veteran's Home in Lebanon, OR. She was 98 years old.

Phyllis was born in Fraser, CO on October 17th, 1922 to Charles and Vesta England. She grew up in the Yakima Valley, Washington. As an adult, Phyllis pursued a career as a registered nurse, graduating from 'Our Lady of Lourdes' in 1945. In 1946 Phyllis was married to Richard R. Schroeder and together they welcomed their daughter Katherine Marie Schroeder on November 20th, 1947. Phyllis was honored to spend her career working in Medford, Oregon with one of the top neuro surgeons in our nation. After retirement she continued to be an active member of the Medford Friends Church, her community and in the lives of so many around her. She worked heavily in the advancement of researching physiological trauma and creating resources for those suffering from confinement as a Prisoner of War in the Pacific theater during WWII. She loved to garden, travel, and especially enjoyed camping around Oregon, and spending time at the Oregon coast.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Richard Rupert Schroeder and their daughter Katherine Marie Tremain. She is survived by 2 grandsons, Ronnie L Tremain & Sonny L Tremain, 8 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great Great Grandchildren.

She will be laid to rest at Eagle Point National Cemetery next to her husband, followed by a celebration of life at the Medford Friends Church on April 8th at 3pm. Family and friends are invited to come and share their memories.
