Kenneth Vernon Fortman

Kenneth Vernon Fortman passed away October 5, 2018 in Ashland, Oregon. He was born in Worthington, Iowa to Cletus and Fidelis Fortman.

He was married June 3, 1961 in New Vienna, Iowa. He served in the Navy for 21 years and was ranked as a captain. He worked at LAC/USC Dental and was a member of the NRA, MOAA, American Legion, American Dental Society, and Cal. Dental Society. He enjoyed fishing, target shooting and reading.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Mr. and Mrs. John Simon and parents Cletus and Fidelis (Simon) Fortman. He is survived by wife, Patricia; daughters, Sheila Craun (Scott), Julie Romney and Suzanne Fortman; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Craun (Caroline), Katheryn (Romney), Spott (Zack), Christopher Romney and David Romney; and grandson, Orson Craun.

His memorial will be held at a military cemetary on April 26, 2019. Memorial contributions may be made to Mayo Clinic - Cancer Research/Dr. Manish Kohli, 200 1st St. SW. Rochester, MN, 55905

His burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetary in Preston, MN.
