Marguerite O. Mullaney

Marguerite (Peggy) Mullaney joined her husband Jim in eternal life on Wednesday, October 3rd 2018. Peggy was a long time resident of Medford, OR and most recently was living at Waterford Grand in Eugene, OR.

Marguerite was born in Steubenville, OH on July 12, 1932. She was the 4th of 6 children born to Patrick and Ellen Mulholland. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in Steubenville.

Upon graduation from high school Marguerite became a flight attendant for American Airlines based in Newark, NJ. In 1955 she moved to Oakland, CA where she worked for Bank of America. While in Oakland she met her future husband, James J. Mullaney and the two would marry in the spring of 1956.

In 1957 the FBI transferred the young couple to Medford, OR where they would raise 5 beautiful, loving children and become very active in the community they absolutely loved. Peggy called Medford home for 58 years.

Peggy was preceded in death by her late husband James, her parents Patrick and Ellen Mulholland, sisters; Eileen, Patricia, Elizabeth and brothers Owen and Patrick.

Peggy is survived in death by sons; Jim (Sheryl) Portland, OR, Rob (Janet Lyn) Las Vegas, NV, Mark (Janet) Pleasanton, CA, John (Stephanie) Sacramento, CA and daughter Shannon (Troy) Kirk Eugene, OR. Peggy also cherished her 12 grandchildren; Bryan, Justin, Dillon, Lauren, Megan, Trevor, Colin, Conor, Caitlin, Tatum, Payton and Ryan.

Peggy had many interests including; oil painting, poetry, interior design, fashion, the great outdoors and her beloved animals. Peggy loved her many dogs.

Peggy enjoyed her many friends and was known for her quick wit and humor. She was kind and generous often going out of her way to help those in need.

Among the organizations that Peggy supported were the Hillcrest Society, Providence Guild, La Clinica, Sacred Heart Church, Southern Oregon Historical Society and Southern Oregon University.

A private memorial and burial are being planned. Donations can be made to The Alzheimer's Association or the James J. and Peggy Mullaney Memorial Nursing Scholarship at Southern Oregon University.
